ALAMOSA – The seventh week of the high school golf season is this weekend with all but one San Luis Valley team in action.

The following are thumbnail sketches of this week’s games.

BRANSON/KIM (5-1, 3-0) AT #4 SIERRA GRANDE (5-0, 2-0)

This week: The fourth-ranked Sierra Grande Panthers will host the Branson/Kim Bearcats with first place in the Southwest League on the line. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. at Roybal Field.

Last week: The Panthers defeated Primero 54-44 at home last Friday. The Bearcats defeated La Veta 55-0 at home last Saturday.

Next week: Sierra Grande will host Cotopaxi next Saturday at 6 p.m. Branson/Kim will have an open date.

#2 CENTAURI (5-0, 1-0) AT CENTER (0-5, 0-1)

This week: The second-ranked Centauri Falcons will travel to meet the Center Vikings on Friday. Game time is at 7 p.m.

Last week: The Falcons defeated Ignacio 53-13 last Saturday. The Vikings lost to Monte Vista 79-0 on the road last Friday.

Next week: Centauri will have an open week after Del Norte canceled the remainder of its varsity season. Center will travel to Ignacio with kickoff slated for 6 p.m.

GUNNISON (0-5, 0-1) AT ALAMOSA (3-2, 1-0)

This week: The Alamosa Mean Moose will host the Gunnison Cowboys on Friday at 7 p.m. It will be Alamosa’s Homecoming game.

Last week: The Mean Moose defeated Bayfield 23-14 on the road last Friday. The Cowboys lost to Montezuma-Cortez 54-26 at home last Friday.

Next week: Alamosa will play Montezuma-Cortez on the road next Friday at 7 p.m. Gunnison will host Pagosa Springs next Friday at 7 p.m.

HOEHNE (2-3, 1-0) AT SANGRE DE CRISTO (1-3, 0-1)

This week: The Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds will host the Hoehne Farmers on Friday. Game time is at 7 p.m.

Last week: The Thunderbirds lost at Fowler 54-14 last Friday. The Farmers defeated Crowley County 44-18 at home last Friday.

Next week: Sangre de Cristo will travel to Walsenburg next Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff. Hoehne will host Fowler next Friday at 7 p.m.

LA VETA (1-4, 1-2) AT ANTONITO (0-5, 0-3)

This week: The Antonito Trojans will host the La Veta Redhawks on Saturday. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.

Last week: The Trojans lost at Cotopaxi 56-30 last Saturday. The Redhawks lost to Branson/Kim 55-0 in Branson last Friday.

Next week: Antonito wraps up its season by hosting Primero at 1 p.m. La Veta will host Caliche next Friday at 7 p.m.

MONTE VISTA (3-2, 1-0), IDLE

This week: The Monte Vista Pirates will have an open week after Del Norte canceled the rest of its varsity football season.

Last week: The Pirates defeated Center 79-0 at home last Friday.

Next week: Monte Vista will host Trinidad next Friday at 7 p.m.

SARGENT (3-2, 1-0) AT SANFORD (3-2, 1-0)

This week: The Sanford Mustangs will host the Sargent Farmers on Friday. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.

Last week: The Mustangs defeated Norwood 20-13 last Friday. The Farmers defeated Dolores 30-23 also last Friday.

Next week: Sanford will host Mancos next Friday at 6 p.m. Sargent will travel to Norwood with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. also next Friday.
