LaMee Awarded Livingston Fellowship
Longtime Creede Repertory Theatre Artistic and Executive Director Maurice (Mo) LaMee is among five recipients of the 2010 Livingston Fellowship. LaMee has decided to use the Fellowship to study artistic leaders in the country and internationally. He would also like to connect with other theater companies and take the unique and interesting material being produced at the CRT to other parts of the country and the world. 

Hayes new R.G. County Judge
Former Creede magistrate wins appointment. Patrick Henry Hayes Jr. will replace retiring Rio Grande County Judge Michael Trujillo.

Over 90 citizens meet with Shank
Don Shank, president of the Denver and Rio Grande Historical Railway Foundation was invited by local residents to speak on the Creede branch train issue at the Underground Mining Museum. Over 90 Attended the meeting. 

Bike tour stops in Creede
The third annual Tour de bike trip stopped in Creede on Friday after riding over Slumgullion Pass from Lake City, The seven riders, a group of friends from Denver, have been riding for a week and will stop at the Valley View Hot Springs to wrap up the successful tour.

NEWS NOTES
Mr. and Mrs. Fred S. Lake, who have been the guests of the J.F. Swanks, departed for the Pacific Coast Wednesday for a short stay,  then they plan to return to their Chicago home.


Mr. Frank E. Wheeler of Denver is spending the week at Wagon Wheel Gap, making special reports for the government.  Frank is never too busy to boost for the proposed ore treatment process for Creede and his knowledge of such matters is highly prized by those interested.


The usual slaughter of deer will be pulled off according to law, commencing October 1st and concluding October 4th.  A number of our vicious gun-men have their quarry spotted and not being fortunate enough to have a deer tight corra, will only secure one only in the true sportsmanlike manner.
