CREEDE — The Creede Headwaters Music Festival was a hit in the summer of 2022 with a lineup that many thought could not be matched — until this year. Creede Headwaters Music Festival member Bob Holt recently released the lineup for this year, and it looks better than last year.
This year’s music festival will take place Aug. 26 and 27. Tickets can be bought online at www.headwatersmusicfestival.com.
The headliner for the Headwaters Music Festival is Pam Rose, a Nashville-based, award-winning, Country Music singer and songwriter. She will perform on the Jon Harshaw Main Stage at 7 p.m. on Aug. 26.
She has been nominated for two Grammy awards for “Best Country Song” and nominated by the Academy of Country Music for “Song of the Year” for her song, “I’ll Still Be Loving You,” which was recorded by Restless Heart.
With Mary Ann Kennedy, they won praise for their powerful alliance as part of the group, Calamity Jane, and later as the acclaimed duo, Kennedy Rose. They recorded two CDs for Sting’s private label and were asked to open for him on a world tour.
With Emmylou Harris, Kennedy Rose performed twice at the White House. They also performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Presentation in Oslo, Norway, and during 2016, Kennedy Rose toured with Harris in North America and Europe as an acoustic trio, spotlighting their impressive three-part blend.
As a solo artist, Rose has recorded CDs “Morpheus” and “Fly” and most recently, “The Temple Sessions.” She has enjoyed traveling the world as a solo artist. She has sung with other artists including Art Garfunkel and Neil Young and recorded most notably “How Do I live Without You” with Leann Rhimes and “Independence Day” with Martina McBride.
Chuck Jones and Rose have recorded and performed together and will accompany each other during each star’s performance on the festival’s main stage. Jones is scheduled to perform at 6 p.m. on Aug. 26.
Jones’s songs have been recorded by well-known artists including Patti Labelle, Ronnie Millsap, Shelby Lynne, Chris Ledoux, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Charlie Daniels, Deana Carter, Reba McEntire, and Peter Cetera.
Jones has had No. 1s with Diamond Rio’s “Love A Little Stronger” and Billy Dean’s “It’s What I Do.” He has also had many other charting singles with Montgomery Gentry, Trace Adkins, Rascal Flatts, Jake Owen, Julia Cole, and Randy Houser.
“We are also very excited to announce that we are having back this summer the 4th Infantry Division Band from Fort Carson, Colo. They were a big hit at last year’s festival, and we were given approval from the Department of the Army for them to return this summer. In addition, we have popular bands scheduled including Mito, River Town Folk, BMK (Baxter, Martin, and Kurtz) and several others filling out our two-day schedule,” said Holt.
