Medicare program Thursday
MONTE VISTA— Tri-County Senior Citizens will host a Medicare program on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 12:30 p.m. at 311 Washington St. South Central Colorado Seniors/SHIP will be on hand with information on various programs available through their agency.

URG ED meeting set for Feb. 12
MONTE VISTA—The Upper Rio Grande Economic Development monthly breakfast meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 7 a.m. at the Mountain View Restaurant in Monte Vista. The program will be by Corbett Hefner, Power Zone’s vice president of research and development/business development. Hefner will talk about Power Zone Equipment Inc.’s recent branching of its agricultural department with the establishment of Formation Ag, Inc. in Monte Vista. The company division will allow for better service and future growth with the industrial hemp industry. Agricultural projects will be moved over to the newly establish Formation Ag for continued development, fabrication, and service.

Friends of SLV NWR to meet Feb. 13
SAN LUIS VALLEY— The Friends of the San Luis Valley National Wildlife Refuges will hold their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Baca National Wildlife Refuge headquarters. Donate blankets, winter gear
ALAMOSA—As the temp-eratures remain below freezing, La Puente is in urgent need of blankets and sleeping bags. For those experiencing homelessness, winter gear such as a jacket, gloves, hat, scarves, hand/feet warmers, etc., are a Godsend.
Drop these items off at the shelter located at 913 State. Ave. Alamosa, or call 719-589-5909. “For a community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people’s lives and concern for each other.” Thanks for helping La Puente keep neighbors warm during these frigid times.
