CREEDE — The 45-minute documentary “KID Show” by Allison Quiller will be shown at the Ruth Humphreys Brown Theater in Creede on Saturday, February 16th at 1 p.m. Admission is free to the public.
For a town whose economy relies on art, Creede, once had no art programming available for its youth. The KID Show blossomed out of this need, breaking ground in an experimental, professional and dynamic way that now draws audiences from across the nation.
Every year, the KID Show gives the young people of Creede and the San Luis Valley the opportunity to work with professional mentors to produce an original play. This program gives these kids a real taste of what it might be like to have a career in the arts.
Allison Quiller was one of the students who sparked the development of The KID Show. She is now a professional filmmaker, and this past summer, 16 years after the inception of the program, she returned to document the growth of the program that changed her life. Come and be inspired.
