BRIGHTON, Colo.— Jan Edward Meadows, a San Luis Valley native passed away on March 28, 2019 at 4:38 p.m. in the Platte Valley Medical Center. Jan suffered from colon cancer.
Jan was born in Alamosa, Colo. May 25, 1951. He is the son of Jim and Billie Meadows.
Jan leaves behind a wife, Rhed A Meadows; four sons, Billy Lankford, Brian Lankford, Brandon Meadows and Brooks Meadows, as well as eight grandchildren, and his father and a sister, Connie Whitehead. There are numerous family members he leaves behind. He will be missed by everyone he met. Jan was a happy man who never met an enemy.
Jan graduated from Sargent High School in 1969 and worked at his father’s liquor store before moving on to various other jobs. He and his family moved to Lochbuie, Colo. in 2007.
He was preceded in death by his mothers Billy Meadows Shirley Pennock.
There will be a celebration of life this summer.
