Henry Carl Chafin, Jr., 84

KNOX CITY, Texas— Henry Carl Chafin, Jr., 84, a longtime resident of Knox City, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
Henry was born Aug. 16, 1932 in Knox City, to Frances (Panell) and Henry Carl Chafin, Sr. He was raised in Knox City, and later resided in Haskell for the past five years. Henry owned and operated a Dude Ranch in Creede, Colo. where he loved fishing. 
He is survived by son, Stanley Chafin and wife Laura of Knox City; three sisters, Margaret Chafin of Knox City, Josephine Castle of St. Jo., Nema Westmoreland of Knox City; two grandchildren, Matt Cook and wife Keely of Azle, Brandie Stribbling of Odessa; one step-grandson, Zane Hubbard of Rifle, CO; three great-grandchildren, Noah Cook, Chloe Cook, Micah Cook; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Henry Chafin, Sr.; two daughters, Dorothy Chafin and Donna Chafin.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Knox City Cemetery with Rev. Steve Stovall officiating. Services were under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City.
