Headwaters music in the mountains this weekend

CREEDE—The annual Headwaters Music Festival is taking place this weekend at the ballpark in Creede. Events begin Thursday afternoon, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. at the Elks Lodge on Main Street with the Songwriters Class for aspiring songwriters led by Kathy Hussey, a Nashville based award winning songwriter.
Friday and Saturday mornings, an army of volunteers will be working at the ballpark, setting up the stage, green rooms, sound system and drink, food and other vendor tents. The weather report looks good for the weekend, and there will be plenty of shade and rain canopies on the grounds for everyone’s comfort.
Bring a chair and come and enjoy two full days of great music in the Valley framed by Creede’s majestic stone pillars and bordered by the mighty Rio Grande River. Camping is available on-site and the lineup is an exciting mix of country, blue grass, acoustic folk and rock and roll. Bands and recording artists hail from Austin, Texas, San Diego, Calif., Nashville, Tenn. and right here in Colorado.
Go to the website at www.headwatersmusicfestival.com to check out more info on the artists and events. Tickets are $25 for a day pass, $40 for a two-day pass and can be purchased online or at the gate. The music kicks off on Saturday at 1 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the music begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. Come, catch a tune, and celebrate the end of summer with a magical weekend of music and fun in the mountains.
