CREEDE—The Friends of Mineral County Emergency Services (FOMCES) appreciation dinner and auction is just around the corner on Saturday, Aug. 17. Drinks and the silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m. The event takes place at the old school gym in Creede.
This is a chance to show appreciation and to thank the many volunteers in Mineral County for their hard work in saving lives and keeping everyone safe.
The search & rescue team, the EMTs, and the fire department, often in small towns like Creede, are comprised of the same volunteers. Tickets for the gumbo dinner are $15 before and $20 at the door. Tickets are being sold at the sheriff’s office in Creede, at the chamber/visitors center and Mountain Views RV Park Office. Tickets can also be purchased from FOMCES board members by calling 917 680-6742 cell and 719 850-0514.
They are looking for item donations for the live and silent auction. Call the above numbers to donate.

There is also a multi-day outfitter and guided fishing trip for four people on one of the great ranches in Mineral County.
