CREEDE — The annual Creede Ladies Aid Bizarre and Rummage Sale opens its doors on Wednesday, July 13, and continues through Thursday. The annual event is a large rummage sale and one of the biggest fundraisers the organization puts on throughout the year.

The Ladies Aid Society is the oldest service organization in Creede, established in 1899. Being a small town, residents have always relied upon one another in times of need. In true community spirit, the Ladies Aid Society continues its mission of providing financial assistance to neighbors experiencing unexpected misfortune, with the Rummage Sale proceeds being its major fundraiser.

The town gym will be filled with clothing, home goods, furniture, plants, books, jewelry, a Christmas Corner, and much more. As you enter Creede from the south, continue straight ahead at the gas station onto La Garita Street. The town gym is in the old school complex on the right.

Wednesday’s schedule begins with doors opening at 8 a.m. This day will include the rummage sale, as well as the Bazaar, featuring homemade baked goods and crafts. A popular item, the Ladies Aid’s famous Chile Relleno casserole, will be available for purchase. In addition, at 10:30 a.m. there will be an auction of a select pick of the most special and interesting donated items. The day ends at 2 p.m.

Thursday will feature the Rummage Sale only, beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at noon. There will be refreshments for sale in the kitchen area on both days as well.
