First-ever community fish fry a big hit
The fish-fry is a special fundraiser for the Creede-Mineral County Chamber of Commerce to assist with operating funds and special projects. Music was furnished by John Goss and Steve Baxter. The Chamber thanked foremost the owners and managers of the Cove Restaurant for there food donations.
Harbert book signing next weekend
Chuck Harbert's latest book , Creede, Colorado History Insights and views through Postcards and Photographs from the 1890's to the 1960's Harbert will do two book signings.

Couple open Art Studio in Creede
Jim and Denise Uhleman-Armstrong, a husband and wife team in Creede, have started the vision of their dream. -Shawnodese Art Studio is a working studio of graphic design, art, photography and poetry. It's a studio where you can meet artists and watch them work.
Community Center benefit well attended
A Large crowd gathered for a Community Center benefit on June 12. Chili prepared by Chef Chris Wellman of 4UR Ranch received rave reviews, as did an assortment of salads and mouthwatering desserts. 250 people savored the meal at $5 per person with all proceeds going to the Community Center .
Pumpboys opens at CRT

Phipp's Ranch Under New Charge
John Glendining and family leave the Phipps ranch the first of next week and will go to Monte Vista to take charge of the La Veta Hotel. Mr. Aimsworth of Denver will assume charge of the Phipp's resort.
Telephone Line in Need of Repair
W.F. Bowers, assistant Forest supervisor is up from Monte Vista, going over the telephone line which extends from Creede to the Farmers union reservoir. The line has been in trouble for some time.
Baseball Season Begins
Our baseball boys will go to Saguache Sunday for their first game of the season. Just now they are a fun bunch of vim and vinegar and hope they make good before giving us a home game the following week.
