CAC announces Mountain Shootout winners

CREEDE — The Creede Arts Council announced the winners of its Mountain Shootout photography competition this week. They received 34 entries.

“The Creede Arts Council would like to offer a sincere thanks to each of our photographers for participating in this year's Mountain Shootout photography competition,” CAC stated. “Our judge this year, John Gary Brown, was thrilled with the submissions and we are all blown away by the talent represented in our artists' work.”

Out of 34 entries, Brown selected a first place, a second place, and a third place winner as well as four honorable mention awards.

The winners are as follows:

  • First Place: Bob Seago, June Snow and Phoenix Falls
  • Second Place: John Lawley, Bad Manners
  • Third Place: Dennis Schoenfelder, Stage Station

Honorable mention went to Ron Dessain, Crested Cara Cara; Mary Rice, Waterfall Rocky Mountain National Park; Michael Zyburra, Sunset at Beaver Creek; and Doug Ouren, Pintada Park Fly By.

“We are very excited to begin our public exhibition on June 24 at the Creede Visitor Center and to offer the works listed for sale to the public,” CAC stated. “We will be hosting an opening reception on June 24 at 5 p.m. at the Creede Visitor Center.”
