Benefit dinner and auction offering many rare finds

CREEDE—Many interesting and collectable items are on tap for being auctioned at the Friends of Mineral County Emergency Services dinner on Saturday, Aug. 19, 5:30 p.m. at the Creede Community Center.
Rare and collectable unmounted amethyst donated by the Last Chance Mine are especially notable. There are two gemstones that are faceted and one that is clear that are of special interest to collectors and jewelers and both exceed nine carats. These unique stones are from a recent uncovered pocket at the historical mine. In addition, there are several Henry Rifles, hunting and fishing expeditions offered by local outfitters, B&B Vacations, and valuable artwork.
Tickets for the gumbo dinner are $15 each and can be purchased at the Mineral County and Creede Chamber of Commerce and at the sheriff’s office.
